It was great fun. There was hardly any room since it is 15 th August.
We had our dinner at Hotel Gitanjali VVPL (New Digha : 9932 60 39 09 , 9732 62 00 08 , 03220 266 547 , 266 552 ). Non AC Super deluxe rooms are Rs 700/-. One can book from Andhra Insurance building, 12 Chowringhee square, 2nd floor, Kolkata 700 069, 033- 2248 2121. 2213- 0696. It is undoubetdly one of best hotles and very good value for money restaurant. I will most certainly recommend people to stay here.
Whatever I have seen I can safely say that it is pointless to stay at ugly old Digha. New Digha has become quite crowded, but still it is much better.
We went to Chandandeswar Mandir ( nothing to offer, uninspiring) , Talsari (with horrible roads) by a cyclerickshaw. One can cover the same thing by a hired car. The rates are not much different.
Talsari is indeed a very nice place to stay. There are 2 hotels there. It is much better to stay at Talsari than Digha. It is also quite near to Digha.
